My 21 Days of Fasting and Prayer Journey

August 11, 2015 Leave a comment

testimonyI pray that this article finds you experiencing the goodness of God in your everyday life, ministry and business.

As some people know I completed 21 days of fasting and prayer on August 8th. The purpose of the fast was for clarity, understanding and direction. The reasons I decided to fast were because one, I feeling sluggish in my spirit, second, I was spiritually tired and weary, third, I knew something was missing spiritually and naturally, but I couldn’t put my finger on it and fourth, I wanted God to reveal to me what I couldn’t see going on around me and what I didn’t understand was going on within me.

I chose the Daniel’s fast because the Word of God teaches in Daniel 10 that Daniel set his mind to gain understanding and he humbled himself before God through 21 days of fasting. I wanted the spiritual warfare to be defeated by the power of the Holy Spirit on my behalf and I needed a strength stronger than my own to conquer the state of mind that I was in.

What Has This 21 Days Journey Been Like For Me?

Overall, this experience was a blessing for me. It started off good, however, I was disappointed that some people who I thought would (and should) join me didn’t. There were some family and friends that I was depending on to be a part of this journey. What a “breakthrough” for me that they did not. In the past, my discouragement would come from expecting people I know to be a part of what I was doing. Today, I only expect the ones God wants to be a part to be a apart of what I am doing?

As my inner man was being strengthen, the Lord revealed to me three main things that were lacking in my life concerning my ministry, calling and business:

  1. Momentum –  mine was low because I was focusing on the wrong people wanting the right results.
  2. Asking – I was asking the wrong person for help. The right person became the wrong person when he/she doesn’t honor their word. I was wrong to continue asking the person for help.
  3. Accountability – I wasn’t accountable to the right people because my momentum  was low and I was focused on the wrong person.

What I Know For Sure!

I have been entrusted with the wisdom of God, a preaching assignment, and an awesome gift of teaching. Because my momentum and excitement became weary in doing well, I sat on my gifts for a season – using them “just a little bit.” God revealed to me that I am equipped and trained with all that I need to experience the more abundant life purposed for me.

The Lord showed me that there are people who I am assigned to – that’s you and others – that are waiting for me to continue on in my assignment showing up in a big way for them with what He has given me. I have been entrusted  with the solutions to their problems and answers to their questions.

What’s My Commitment To God and You!

As a result of this time of fasting and prayer my commitments are:

  1. I commit to trusting completely in God being led by His Spirit in knowing who to trust in the natural.
  2. I commit to using my spiritual gifts and talents wholeheartedly to empower, equip and train the Body of Christ with biblical principles and strategies for victorious living.
  3. I commit to using my business and ministry training and skills to teach other how to be successful in the market place and in marketplace ministry.
  4. I commit to establishing divine connections for spiritual growth and success in kingdom living and prosperity.

Having the gift of wisdom means having other gifts connected to it. One can teach without wisdom just releasing information. However, with the gift of wisdom, it is hard to teach and not bring about transformation in the lives of others.

I have been entrusted with a lot from God and I commit to doing “greater works” from now until it’s time for my glory transition.

Thanks to those who took this 21 day journey with me, those who prayed for me and for being connected to me.

My commitment to you is to stay connected to you, serving you with what I have in a spirit of truth, integrity and loyalty.

In His Integrity,

Eight Ways to Discover Your Spiritual Gifts

Discovering your Spiritual Gifts

How do you discover your Spiritual Gifts? Here are eight ways I believe will help you.

  1. Understand what the gifts are. Once you understand each gift you will be able to discern more effectively what yours might be.
  2. Accept that you are gifted with these special endowments given to you by the Holy Spirit on behalf of our Father who has a great plan for you.
  3. Analyze yourself. Look at your interests, passions, personality, and even your talents and skills.
  4. Seek confirmation from others. Sometimes people who are in tune with spiritual things can see what gifts you may have.
  5. Evaluate the results of all that you learned and observed about the gifts you believe you are blessed with. Do you see evidence of these gifts in your life?
  6. Dedicate yourself to ministry because in doing so you will eventually find your gifted path.
  7. Take an assessment online.
  8. Sit with a Biblical/Christian Coach, Counselor or pastor to determine where God might be using you.

Know Your Spiritual Gifts

spiritual-gifts gold box

Some people believe that knowing what your gifts are bare no true meaning. However, knowing the purpose of a thing is very useful. Not knowing the purpose of your gifts will cause you to live in what I call the “Haphazard Zone”.  That is the zone where you walk aimlessly through life, day-to-day not knowing who you are or what is going on. You are allowing life to happen to you and not living life to the fullest.

Discovering your spiritual gifts will open your eyes to the purpose of your life.

Can you imagine where your life would be if you understood what God had for you? Or what you were born to do? Everything has a purpose. When you don’t know the purpose of something you will abuse it. You have a destiny. You have a call. God gave you gifts that you were designed specifically for.

The three main reasons why you need to discover your Spiritual Gifts:

  1. Knowing your spiritual gift(s) will enable you to find your place of ministry in the Body of Christ. Every Christian has a particular function in the body of Christ. Your spiritual gifts equip you to carry that purpose out and to enhance the Body of Christ.
  2.  Knowing your spiritual gift(s) will enable you to determine your priorities. Knowing your gifts will keep your life with boundaries around it. You will not just let any and everything into your life. One of the most common problems we all face is having more things to do than we have time to do them. Paul says in Romans 12:6-8, that we should make the use of our spiritual gifts a priority in our lives. In simple terms, when we have too many things to do we must choose to function in the area of our spiritual gifts. In order to set priorities you must know what your spiritual gifting is.
  3. Knowing your spiritual gift(s) will be of great help in discerning God’s will. To expand our last point just a little bit further, knowing your spiritual gift(s) can be very helpful in discerning the will of God in the direction your life takes, especially your occupation. For example, if you do not have the gift of teaching or leadership, a teaching position perhaps that is not the field for you.  There is a very distinct relationship between knowing the will of God (Romans 12:1-2) and understanding your spiritual gift (Romans 12:3-8).

Here are a few more reasons why knowing your gift is important:

  • Commitment based on the focus of our gifts rather than abstract commitment will help you keep your commitments
  • You will have more effective service in whatever area you are working in
  • Appropriate commitment to ministry
  • You will have more confidence in overcoming inferiority about who you are and what you are to do

Become An Authority Expert In Your Niche

July 5, 2015 2 comments

how-to-build-authority-in-your-niche

Practically every niche in existence has its own set of experts and authorities who get to enjoy the respect and admiration of the community. No doubt being an authority comes with a range of perks and benefits, and it’s no wonder that so many strive to reach that level. If you’ve been considering giving it a shot, but you’re still not convinced it’s worth all the hard work required, here is a short list of some of the advantages that may aid you in making a decision:

You have the power of the whole community at your disposal

When you’re at the top of the food chain in a niche, getting everyone under you to rally towards a common cause becomes fully doable. Say you get an idea to create the most comprehensive website in the niche – all you have to do is reach out to the community and you’ll most likely get all the help you need.

Opportunity will be everywhere

Whether it’s someone who wants to offer you 50% of their latest project in exchange for expert advice, or someone who wants to pay you obscene amounts of money to come speak at an event, opportunity will be everywhere once you reach authority status. Making money will be easier than ever before. In fact, you will probably have to turn down most of the offers you get due to the simple fact that you cannot do everything.

People will trust your word

As an authority your word will be treated like gold. Even if you have an opinion that people disagree with, they’ll still respect it because you are, after all, the authority. If anyone should know, it’s you. Don’t expect everyone to always agree with you though – even when you’re an undisputed authority there will always be people who think of things differently.

Your network will grow effortlessly

As an unknown nobody trying to get started, building a network can be difficult and time-consuming. If you haven’t got much to bring to the table it will be a very slow process. Everyone wants to network with those higher up on the ladder than themselves, ensuring they stand to gain something from it. It therefore follows that when you’re at the top of the ladder, everyone will want to connect with you. You won’t have to make any effort yourself, but can just sit back and build your network passively.

Day 4 – Productivity Killers and Myths

Are you one of the millions of people who simply want to find just a few more hours in their day to finish a task? What would you do with an extra hour sleep? Relax with friends? Or work more in your business? Whatever it is, learning simple strategies to become more productive is the aim of this challenge.

Productivity killers

What Kills Productivity? We all have the same 24 hours in a day, yet some seem to get way more done than others. In this section, let’s take a look at a few of the more common productivity killers. These can be killing your productivity in either your personal or business life.

Killer #1: Too much on your plate is one of the top productivity killers. We take on tasks even when we already have a full plate. Often times we do this because we are confident and overly optimistic. We believe we can get everything done or maybe we just haven’t learned to say no to those things we really don’t want to do.

Killer #2: Which leads to the next killer: You don’t know how to say no. By spreading yourself too thin, your quality of work, your health and your sanity often suffer. Taking on too much, filling your plate with every request made of you, can be overwhelming and cause you to not get done half of what you normally could.

Killer #3: Not getting enough sleep can kill your productivity. I’m not telling you to get 10 hours of sleep. Everyone’s body is different. But research says most people need 7 to 8 hours to be fully rested.

Killer #4: Not getting enough exercise can kill your productivity as well. Physical activity keeps your mind healthy as well as your body. Just a simple walk around the block can clear your mind so you are ready to start on a task when you return.

Productivity is key to getting things done. Learn more about productivity killers and myths, listen to the training audio here  http://stme.in/01WP2tfZz.

Striving For Excellence D14- Being Honest With Products and Services

Honesty

Being fair and honest to others is actually known as the trait of showing integrity. This includes not deceiving people and being honest when asked for your opinion on a topic. Have you ever made excuses for not going somewhere? This is not showing integrity at all.

People who display integrity are often viewed as a leader and someone to take note of. If your goal is to be seen as a winning person then this is a trait that you really want to demonstrate. The best way to be seen in this light is to work on becoming a role model for people. Eventually people will make a point of searching for you.

It can be difficult to give people your honest opinion. They may not like what they hear but it is your opinion. In time people will come to respect and honor your opinions. You will become a person that they can trust.

Trust is a huge issue when it comes to the business world. Never try to cheat a customer for your own good. For example if you have received a defective product and you think that they won’t see the defect, don’t try to sell it to them. Instead the right course of action is for you to return the product even if it means you will be out of stock. You inform the customer that there is a defect and you will order one in for them and will let them know when it arrives.

The customer immediately sees you as an honest business person and will appreciate your honesty. They may offer to buy the defective product if it doesn’t affect the performance. That becomes their decision and at least you made them aware of the issue.

People who are sincere have an open mind and know what they want to get out of life and they take the right steps to achieve their goals. They are also viewed as people who are humble and are not just in it for their own benefit.

This group of people often help others with their time. They help raise money or just give their time to sponsor a cause that they truly believe in. Their act of sincerity often leads others to do the same thing – they have become a role model.
