Make More Time For Patience

In yesterday’s post, we covered the concept of feeling rushed in today’s hectic world and how it can lead to impatience. Part of becoming more patience and lowering stress is to learn to slow down. You can do that and limit the sense of urgency that tends to creep up on you by building cushions into your daily schedule. These strategies will help you to feel less hurried and to actually get more done. Your patience will surely increase as a result.

Wake Up Earlier

One way to get more time in your day is to make it. You can easily do this by waking up just a little bit earlier than your usual time. A half hour to an hour of downtime each morning can be a lifesaver when it comes to collecting your thoughts and planning your day. You can use this time in whatever way you desire, and once you do it for a week or so, it will become routine. You won’t even miss the extra sleep.

Build Time In

Another strategy to getting more time in your day is to build it in. This is an easy tweak once you get the hang of it. For example, if you’re an entrepreneur or professional with lots of out-of-office obligations, you can build down time into your day by leaving a period free after lunch. You can use this time before your next client or appointment to sneak in some time of refreshing before starting more work. It’s too tempting to shirk the studying once you get home and comfortable. This strategy can help for working meetings and other duties, as well. Some strategic scheduling can give you extra time to get more accomplished, and you’ll feel far less hurried.

Avoid Overscheduling

Many of us feel pressure to get things done. We want to cram as much as possible into our days, thinking we’re being more productive. Instead, we’re just burning ourselves out and whittling away our patience reserves. Limiting your to-do list involves learning to say no. This is a tough one for many of us, but it’s also what will ultimately set you free from unwanted obligations and help you to stop feeling so on-edge. Part of this involves learning to tell yourself no, as well. Cut down on the things you schedule. When you do, you’re bound to feel more relaxed and truly enjoy the activities that remain.

Building cushions into your day will help you to intentionally structure your time in a way that lessens the sense of urgency you experience. You’ll be less hurried and, thus, have more patience to attend to what’s on your plate. Give it a try and see for yourself how well it works.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Your Inner Circle Can Make Or Break You

Anyone who has ever attempted to reach a goal knows that the road to the end goal is often filled with challenges and changes. While this is necessary, it’s usually not easy, but the reward is becoming a better, stronger, more able person – whether your goal is business, or personal.

What makes the challenges and changes so much easier is to make sure your inner circle – those you spend the most time with – are aligned with your own values and goals. Why create dysfunction in your own life by surrounding yourself with those friends who don’t “get” what it is you’re working towards? It is better to envelop yourself with friends for whom working to attain new and exciting goals is a given.

There will be lots of negativity just waiting to break down your walls. This negativity can take the form of outside forces such as the people who are around you that don’t understand you. They will tell you that you can’t do what it is you desire. They’ll make sure you know all the reasons why it won’t work. What they really are is jealous – jealous that you’ve made the decision to grow and become something that right now, you are not.

Negativity could come from within you. You may want to reach your goals, but internally you don’t believe you can. Maybe the tasks seem daunting and you get overwhelmed.

And, negativity can come from things you have no control over, as well.

Who do you want surrounding you when you need support? Of course, you want people aligned to your purpose – people who will hold you up when things get rough, and when you believe you can’t do it, they’ll tell you that you can.

The one thing you don’t want to do is assume that your own willpower will suffice. This may be true, but why take the chance? What you need is to use your inner circle to help you build up your positive habits, celebrate your successes, and if failures happen, they’ll give you a shoulder to cry on, but then they’ll encourage you to get back to work!

This is one thing that all successful people have figured out for themselves… that by surrounding themselves with positive, uplifting, and supportive people who themselves are always reaching for growth, they will reach their own growth that much easier.

So, your inner circle can indeed make or break you. Make sure you choose wisely!

Challenge Assignment:

5 Powerful Morning Habits to Help You Become More Successful

Are you a morning person? Many people enjoy getting up at the sunrise and having a cup of coffee while they browse the web and others prefer to sleep in as long as possible but the most successful people in the world embrace the mornings and in fact there are certain habits that the successful people all seem to share. Here are five powerful habits that will help you become more successful.

1. Get up Early: have you heard the adage early to bed, early to rise? The rest of it is that it makes a man (or woman) healthy, wealthy and wise but in this case it really does make you more successful. If you read about the most successful entrepreneurs out there, you will notice that they get up very early and start their day – and they usually get quite a bit accomplished in the morning as well.
2. Start with Exercise: studies have shown that people who exercise in the morning are5-morning-habits much better equipped to handle the day. You’ll be able to use your brain better, you’ll have more energy and you will simply be better at all of the tasks that you attempt after a half hour or so of exercise. This doesn’t have to be extremely strenuous; it could just be a jog through the park or a bike ride. The important thing is that you exercise.
3. Eat a Good Breakfast: breakfast is the most important meal of the day and you probably know that because experts have been saying it for decades. If you aren’t a breakfast person, you’re not alone. There are lots of people out there who prefer not to eat breakfast and just wait until lunch rolls around. But eating breakfast could help you be more productive and if you try it once you might find that you really enjoy the results.
4. Do the Hardest Thing First: when you get started in the morning don’t go with the easy tasks first. Tackle the hardest project that you have; the one that you’re dreading above all of the others. Once you get that one out of the way, you’ll find that the other projects are easy to accomplish and your day will go much smoother.
5. Prepare the Previous Day: the night before, try to prepare as much as you can so that you’re ready to sit down and get to work as soon as morning comes.

3 Powerful Ways to Recognize an Opportunity

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur one of the things that you’re going to have to do is be able to recognize opportunity when it knocks. An opportunity to fill a much needed gap in the market or to change your business to take advantage of a trend could mean the difference between a little bit of success and a huge amount. But you must know what these opportunities look like so that you can grab them when you see them. Here are three ways to recognize an opportunity.

1.  It Might Not Be Perfect

One of the earmarks of a good opportunity is that it doesn’t sound too good to be true. A true opportunity that has great potential isn’t going to be perfect when you encounter it. You’re going to have to do the work to make it into a successful venture. However, one thing that should have is potential. If you can see it becoming a great idea in the future than it might just be the opportunity that you been looking for but just be sure that just because an idea is imperfect that you don’t discard it completely.

2.  It Is Built on Previous Failures

The best ideas are the ones that have evolved over time because they have been honed through past failures. If an idea has been through the furnace of discovery, there is a much greater chance of it working when you decide to implement it. In other words, you might want to give an idea time to fail a few times before you decide to run with it yourself, because otherwise, you’ll be making all of those mistakes yourself and that won’t result in the grand opportunity the you’re envisioning.

3.  It Might Not Be What It Was Intended to Be Used for Originally

Some of the best ideas that have ever been thought of were completely different takes on what a product or service was originally intended for. The idea might’ve been a failure as it was intended but it sparked an entire new thought process and brand-new applications. These accidental inventions ended up being something completely different because someone had the ability to see past the original application. For example, both the slinky and silly putty toys were intended for industrial application. However, they failed as intended and instead became some of the most popular toys ever invented.

25 Days of Power – Day 1 “You Are Empowered By God”

Did you know God has provided ways in His word to empower His children? Did you know there are specific things you can do to contribute to answered prayer, good health, a peaceful life and more? It’s true!

Once we are saved, we don’t just float through our days hoping to catch God in a good mood when He is willing to answer prayer or provide for our needs. His word gives us many things we can do continually to set His hand in motion.

If we do what God instructs us to do then He will give us all He has promised to give. This if/then type of promise is called a covenant promise. It operates the same as when an attorney draws up a contract between two people. One party agrees to do a particular thing and – after it is done – a second party agrees to do something else. God empowers us to have control of certain circumstances by offering us these covenant promises or blessings.

You Go First

God usually wants us to take the action He has laid out in His word before we are rewarded. He empowers us to do what we should then rewards us once we have done it.

Today’s Self-Empowerment Challenge:

Read through your Bible today, make note of the times God empowers you. You may want to make a list or mark the verses in your Bible as you find them so you can remember when to act and what to do to release God’s best in your life. Many times your actions are all that stand in the way of answered prayers. Is God waiting on you?

Good Evening Everyone!

I pray that you had a great weekend and a spirit-filled Sunday. It’s time to get started with the “SHIFT” – From Point A to Point B 15 Days Challenge.

If you are like me, you want to finish this year and move into the new year on point. I want to be positioned to prosper in so many ways. I know you want the same thing.

Positioning yourself to prosper means taking the necessary steps to get into the right position. It starts with knowing what you want and setting goals to get it.

Have you set important goals for yourself only to let them slowly slip away?

How many New Year’s resolutions did you make earlier this year? How many have you actually kept?

If you’re like most people, when you think about it, you won’t like the answers to these questions.

A Life Without Goals – No way! You can’t prosper without goal.

Life without goals is kind of like a ball on a Pin Ball machine. You give it a push and it bounces all over the place.

It has highs and lows and big scores and low ones.
It doesn’t do what it wants.
It just bounces back from hitting other things.
The other things seem to be in more control than the ball.
When the ball does finally go through the bottom it doesn’t return.

You don’t want to finish this year or go into the new year this way.

You don’t want to just wander around letting other things push you around and into the wrong direction.

You need to take command of your life and make a decision to SHIFT into the right position.

HERE IS YOUR GETTING READY ASSIGNMENT:

1. Make a list (or go back over) of your goals for this year.

2. Use a colored highlighter to identify the ones you completely ignored or didn’t get a chance to do.

3. Using a separate sheet of paper write down the ones you can take some action steps to begin before this year is out. Give yourself the dates to complete each step.
